Chapter Eleven

They stumbled into the guestroom, lips locked, tongues dancing. Winnie had her legs wrapped around Trorm’s waist, her arms around his neck, pressing herself as fully into his muscled body as she could while he held her aloft, powerful hands firmly gripping her ass. Her tiny dress had been hiked up about her waist, baring her legs and revealing a tiny pair of lacy panties that did more to accentuate than cover.

He spun around, kicking the door closed, and spilled her onto the bed. Trorm’s eyes and blood blazed with lust. She was gorgeous. Desirable. Even the gore ruining her dress didn’t detract from the vision of her spread out before him and grinning in anticipation. This flower had thorns.

She met his eyes. “Are you clean?”

He came up short. “Clean?” They’d just been in a battle. He was sweaty and still had bloodstains on him and his clothing, which he pointedly looked to.

She giggled. “Not that kind of clean. Though maybe we should shower first.” She wrinkled her nose, eyeing her dress. “Pretty sure we both smell terrible but my nose is dead to it now.”

Trorm gave a slow nod. That made sense. He didn’t want to wait another minute though. He scooped her back off the bed and carried her bridal style into the adjoining bathroom. “We can do two things at once,” he said. “I’m not waiting to have you one second longer than necessary.”

She made a little mewling sound and buried her face in his chest. He paused at the shower, adjusting his grip so that he could reach in and start the hot water to flowing.

With a whimper, Winnie pulled away from him. “I don’t have any diseases or sicknesses. I’m not fertile at the moment, but I don’t think orcs and lagothropes can breed.”

They couldn’t. Humans could crossbreed with just about anything. Orcs, elves, every known kind of therianthrope and even gnomes. The other races? Trorm had never heard of a half-therianthrope orc.

“I’ve had seventeen sexual partners this last year,” she said.

Trorm froze.

“Most of them male, a few female, and I am not currently in a relationship with any of them.”

Trorm took a slow, deep breath. Seventeen sexual partners? This year?

“One of them gave me a UTI,” she went on. “But I kicked his ass to the curb and don’t have any health issues or injuries you need to worry about.” The healing light from Lilian’s divinely given power had seen to that.

Seventeen partners this year.

She looked up at him, biting her lip with her slight overbite and tilting her head so that her ears drooped a little to the side. Was she nervous?

“That was…straightforward,” Trorm said.

Winnie seemed to shrink in on herself, but held her ground. “I know it’s off-putting to non-lagothropes, but it needs to be discussed before any sex is had. I don’t understand why it’s such a taboo conversation among the rest of you.”

Trorm slowly nodded. He could appreciate that. And he did appreciate her honesty. “I do not have any sicknesses or diseases.
